Why do i itch when i lay down?

This only happens when i lay down , i have not changed detergent , my sheets are clean heck i even bought new ones thought that would help but no ! i shave every other night i still itch ! i dont take hot showers at night ( i used to ) , i stopped that and it helped somewhat , but here i go again itching like crazy ! when i walk by my hubby and hes sees red legs , he says you must have been itching again !! only relief for me is layin on the bed w.o sheets on a cold matress , wierd i know but it does help ! i even put extra lotion at night as well ~! i tend to kick and jerk durin my sleep , i wake up kicking ! go to bed kicking , kicking is a relief somewhat but not alot ! when i lay down on the couch well it hapens there to ! i think i have restless leg syndrome , but i cant afford to go to the doctor , what can i do at night to help ?????
